Cardiac Rehabilitation

What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Mimbres Valley Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is a medically directed, individualized treatment plan of exercise, education and support for patients who have known heart disease or are at an elevated risk for heart disease. The program is designed for patients recovering from a heart attack, bypass surgery, stent placement, stable angina, valve replacement or other cardiac illnesses.

Mimbres Valley’s outpatient service includes cardiac exercise specialists, who will monitor your heart during this carefully planned rehabilitation process.

Most patients will attend 3 months of supervised, and ECG monitored exercise, 2 or 3 times per week. This program is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans.

The goal of cardiac rehabilitation is to help establish and maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle to enhance your quality of life, as well as reduce your risk of future heart problems.

Helping you get back to your best healthy self after a heart-related medical event or condition requires specialty professional intervention.

As a team, we will set goals and measure benchmarks for your health and recovery. Our goal is to support and encourage you as you improve your heart’s health, which can improve your daily life, self-care, and ability to participate in your favorite hobbies.

Potential Benefits
